You do not need to save every word in a collection or book chapter to be finished with it. Some words you already know. Some you have decided not to memorise. Marking the unit complete records that you are done and lets your Study Plan move on.
Completion is a progress record only. It never adds words to My Vocabulary and never creates review cards.
When to mark something complete
Mark a collection or chapter complete when:
- you have saved the words you wanted and skipped the rest deliberately;
- you already knew most of the vocabulary before opening it;
- you worked through it outside Wise Arabic and only needed a few items.
If you saved every word in the unit, it completes on its own. The menu is for the honest middle case: done with the unit, but not with every word.
How to mark it
Open the "…" menu and choose Mark complete. The menu appears wherever a collection or chapter is shown as a unit of progress: on the collection or chapter page itself, on a book's chapter list, on a pathway's collection sequence, on collection cards while browsing, and in your bookmarked collections.
A completed unit still shows how many of its words you actually saved ("Completed · 7 of 31 words saved"), so your records stay honest.
What completion changes
- Your Study Plan treats the unit as finished and suggests the next chapter or collection instead.
- Progress displays show the unit as completed.
Nothing else changes. Unsaved words stay unsaved, your review schedule is untouched, and bookmarks are left alone.
Undoing a completion
If you marked a unit complete too early, open the same menu and choose Undo completion. Undo is available when the completion came from the menu; a unit with every word saved stays completed, because there is nothing left to resume.
