Wise Arabic is a vocabulary-learning service at www.wisearabic.com. It is operated by Moustafa Sabry, a sole trader trading as Wise Arabic in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at contact@wisearabic.com.
These terms
These terms apply when you use Wise Arabic. By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. How we handle personal data is covered separately in the privacy notice.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or over to join the waitlist or hold an account, and the details you give us must be accurate.
Your account
Your account is personal to you. Keep your sign-in details secure, do not share the account with anyone else, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for activity on your account, but not for unauthorised use that happens despite you taking reasonable care of your sign-in details — tell us as soon as you become aware of it.
You can close your account at any time by emailing privacy@wisearabic.com. We will close it and handle your data as described in the privacy notice.
Closing your account does not by itself cancel a Membership subscription, which is held with Paddle. Cancel the subscription first, as described under Paid plans — or tell us when you ask to close the account, and we will confirm the subscription is cancelled before closing it, so no further charges are taken.
The service
Wise Arabic is under active development. That means:
- Features may change, break, or be removed as the product develops.
- We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may pause the service for maintenance.
- Despite our care, bugs may cause errors in content or, in the worst case, loss of saved data. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill, but features and content will continue to develop.
Acceptable use
Use Wise Arabic for personal study. You must not:
- use the service for anything unlawful;
- interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or place abnormal load on it;
- scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy content, whether manually or with automated tools;
- create accounts by automated means, or circumvent access restrictions;
- resell, republish, or redistribute Wise Arabic content.
Our content
The content and software that make up Wise Arabic — word entries, collections, pathways, articles, design, and code — belong to Wise Arabic or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-commercial licence to use them within the service while these terms apply. That licence does not let you extract or republish the content elsewhere.
Your content
You keep whatever rights you already hold in notes and other material you add. You give us permission to store and process them as needed to run the service — for example to save them, back them up, and show them back to you.
Paid plans
Wise Arabic Membership gives you access to the paid learning service and its included features. You choose one of these plans at checkout:
- Monthly: US$14, charged every month.
- Annual: US$120, charged every year.
The checkout shows the final amount and any applicable tax before you place the order. The configured plan prices are in US dollars.
Trial and renewal
Your first Wise Arabic Membership starts with a 14-day free trial. A payment method is required when the trial starts. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, Paddle charges the plan price when the trial ends. The subscription then renews automatically for the same billing period and Paddle charges the payment method on file until the subscription is cancelled. A person who has previously held a Wise Arabic subscription is not eligible for another free trial and is charged when a new subscription starts.
Paddle is the seller for the transaction
Paddle is our merchant of record and authorised reseller. You buy the subscription from Paddle under the terms shown at checkout and Paddle's Buyer Terms. Wise Arabic supplies, licenses and supports the learning service under these terms. Paddle collects payment and applicable transaction taxes, issues receipts and handles transaction refunds.
Cancellation and access afterwards
You can cancel at any time through Settings → Account and Billing → Manage billing, which opens Paddle's customer portal, through the link in Paddle's subscription email, or by asking contact@wisearabic.com for help. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current trial or paid billing period. If you cancel during the trial, access ends when the trial ends and you are not charged. If you cancel after paying, Membership access continues until the end of the period already paid for and the subscription does not renew.
Cancellation stops future renewal; it does not itself refund a charge already made. The separate refund policy explains how to request a refund and your statutory rights.
When Membership ends, paid features are no longer available. Your account, word bank, review history and progress remain stored so you can continue where you stopped if you subscribe again. You can instead close your account and request deletion as described in the privacy notice — cancel the subscription first, since closing the account does not by itself cancel it.
Suspension and ending the service
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, where the law requires it, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the service or its users — for example a compromised account, suspected fraud or abuse, or a security threat while we investigate. Where the problem is minor and fixable, we will normally warn you first. We may also wind down the service itself. If we end a paid service, we will give reasonable notice where practicable, stop future renewals, and work with Paddle to provide any refund or other remedy required by law for a paid period we cannot provide. You will be able to request an export of your data before closure unless circumstances outside our control make that impossible.
When an account closes, your access ends and your data is handled as described in the privacy notice.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses related to business use, since the service is provided for personal study. Our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you have paid for Membership in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and £100.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in its courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you use Wise Arabic as a consumer from another country, you keep any protections of your local law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product develops. The date at the top shows when they last changed. For material changes we will give notice on the site — or by email to account holders — before they take effect, stating the effective date, and changes do not apply retrospectively. If you do not accept a change, stop using the service and close your account before the change takes effect; if you keep using the service afterwards, the updated terms apply.
