Settings reference

What each Wise Arabic setting affects.

Settings are for account details, Arabic display, review scheduling, and your active Study Plan.

Most learners only need to check Settings once, then return when their study pattern changes.

Study Plan

You can choose, change, or remove your active Study Plan from Settings or from the Study Plan page. Both change the same choice.

  • Book: follow a textbook sequence.
  • Pathway: follow an ordered collection sequence around a goal.
  • No plan: browse freely.

Changing the plan only changes what Wise Arabic suggests next. It does not remove saved words, reset review history, or block off-plan vocabulary.

Display

Display settings affect how Arabic appears while you study.

  • Arabic font: choose the style that is easiest for you to read accurately.
  • Transliteration: show or hide romanised hints where supported.

Use transliteration as temporary support, not as a replacement for reading Arabic script.

Scheduling

Scheduling settings affect the review day and your daily pace.

  • Timezone: where your review day is calculated.
  • Day-reset hour: when one review day ends and the next begins.
  • Preferred daily review load: how many reviews you can sustain on a normal day. The dashboard uses it to suggest how many new words to save each day.

The default reset is 3 AM. This helps learners who study after midnight avoid splitting one late session across two review days.

Timezone and reset hour affect due counts, streaks, review history, and when another card for the same word can appear. The preferred review load affects the daily pace and the review load forecast.

Account

Account settings are for email, password, connected sign-in methods, and profile details. They do not change your review schedule or vocabulary.

When to revisit Settings

Revisit Settings when:

  • you start or stop following a Book;
  • your study goal changes enough to need a different Pathway;
  • Arabic is hard to read with the current font;
  • transliteration is helping too much and should be turned off;
  • you move to a different timezone or change when you usually study;
  • late-night reviews are being counted on the wrong day;
  • your daily reviews consistently feel too heavy or too light for the time you have.
